The group meets twice a year in April and October on a Friday afternoon.
Eight different wines, 4 reds and 4 whites, are sampled and voted on. There is a theme to the tasting and the wines are readily available to buy locally.
Nibbles are also served to help soak up alcohol!
Members get a sheet with names of wine, country of origin and where it was bought, usually a local supermarket.
Each member scores the wine and at the end there is a favourite.
Only now is the cost revealed, sometimes results are surprising. This is an opportunity to sample a wine without having to buy a whole, sometimes quite expensive bottle.
