Please please please write the names of people on the back of photographs, so many people inherit photos but can't identify anyone in them.

Also, please try to write a description of each of your parents and grandparents. Future generations will be able to discover their names and dates, but they won't know what their hobbies were, or what their favourite colours were. They won't know if they had a great sense of humour, if they smoked, rode a bike, went shopping in Newcastle every Saturday - that kind of thing. Also, before colour photographs it is hard to tell what colour their hair and eyes were and what kind of complexion they had.
